Gertjan Vermeire is a true Homo universalis. He is a fantastic all-round employee that has committed himself in early 2025 as the Administrative and Financial Support Officer at FlandersMake@UGent - ISyE. Devoting his time to both the ISyE Core Lab and the ISyE Engineering competence domain.
He has also worked at the Ghent University before, specifically at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Here he was devoted in assisting the research on bovine and equine in vitro fertilisation techniques and embryo production. Additionally, Gertjan also worked briefly at the VIB-UGent Centre for Plant Systems Biology.
His most noticeable feats of strength, intelligence and passion during his professional life are his two higher educational degrees. Gertjan is competent in several backgrounds of expertise, mainly situated in the fields of pedagogical sciences, economics, pharmaceutics and biotechnology. His professional career started as soon as 2016, where he would take on the blessing and the burden of being a secondary school teacher in English and economics. This would later be expanded by teaching classes in chemistry, biology, physics and laboratory techniques.
