Simon Popelier obtained his Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research in 2017, after completing a Master of Industrial Sciences in Production Management in 2015. He worked for several years as a logistics consultant and plant designer at the independent consultancy bureau Logflow, where he provided strategic advice to Flemish companies by developing master plans for their sites. Through his involvement in various industrial projects, he has gained in-depth expertise in warehousing and intralogistics automation, both in terms of software (WMS) and hardware (robotics). He is currently active at Logflow as Innovation Manager, responsible for R&D, technology scouting, and the creative coaching of project teams during concept development.

Since 2024, Simon has also been an assistant at Ghent University, where he teaches courses on Smart Factory Design and Designing Manufacturing and Service Systems within the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering (ISyE).
