Stijn De Vuyst

Stijn De Vuyst is associate professor in the department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Product Design. His expertise is in operations research, in particular stochastic modelling, stochastic optimisation simulation, queueing theory, statistical techniques and scheduling, with applications to the design, planning and performance evaluation of production systems as well as healthcare systems. Since 2012 he is involved in the educational board for the Master program Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, where he teaches various courses on stochastic simulation, operations research, quality engineering and industrial statistics. Since 2022, he is holder of the Actemium chair Sustainable Energy on energy-aware planning and optimisation.
