Dennis Osei Tutu is a junior researcher at the research group for Media, Innovation and Contemporary Technologies, Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Product Design, Ghent University. He focusses on Smart Products, User Experience, VR Haptic Interaction, Industrial Design, Human Centered Design and Graphic Design.
Dennis obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering & Design (Ghent University campus Kortrijk, 2021) and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering & Design (Ghent University campus Kortrijk, 2022).
For his master thesis, he saw the opportunity to use Encountered-Type Haptic Displays to facilitate haptic interactions between virtual objects to simulate industrial processes. After successfully simulating constant and variable forces using a robotic arm, he joined the imec-mict-ugent team to pursue a Doctorate’s degree. Currently, he is researching 21st century skill acquisition and evaluation VR, along with a continuation of haptic interaction solutions for VR.
