Winter Teambuilding 2025
(13-03-2025) Last week we went teambuilding with the whole Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Product Design in Gullegem, West-Flanders. Curious to see what we did?
It has been scientifically proven that strengthening the social bonds between coworkers increases work productivity. Citation needed? No, you know it to be true.
In the morning, Ghent University's Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Product Design gathered at Campus Kortrijk. With the sun shining brightly down on our faces, we went for a guided tour at Provinciedomein Bergelen, a local nature reservation. We learned a lot about the ecosystems there. For lunch, we ate at the restaurant there. It was so lovely, we lost track of time of bit. In the afternoon, while still an extremely sunny and pleasantly-warm day, we went to Prison... Island! A multi-levelled escape game with uncountable rooms. There were 17 teams. Some were winners. Some were good participants. Well played. Good game.
After the teambuilding, most of the staff hung around for a spontaneous afterwork drink.
Safe to say everyone enjoyed their time. New relationships formed. Existing bonds have been made stronger. We return back to our work, knowing we can count on each other. We keep doing our thing, hoping to make the world a better place.
