'Advancing Transport Equity' special guest lecture
(06-05-2026) You know that "exclusive lecture" we kept teasing on our socials? The one with insights from Canadian surveys, pilots and spatial analytics on traffic and logistics? Well… it happened. And it delivered.
We had the pleasure of welcoming two leading researchers of the University of Toronto: Prof. Dr. Steven Farber and Prof. Dr. Ignacio Tiznado Aitken. They shared evidence-based insights, models and real-world interventions.
Their research was on "The National Survey of Transport Poverty: A Tool To Measure Transport Poverty, Suppressed Participation, and Sufficiency Standards" and "Understanding Suppressed Travel: Definitions, Measurement, and Preliminary Evidence".
A fascinating deep dive into how mobility systems can be made more equitable - backed by rigorous data and practical applications.
This special lecture was brought to you by EIT Urban Mobility, Flanders Make, Prof. Dr. Sc. Ivana Semanjski and the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture.
