ISyE at the Smart Competences event
(06-03-2026) Last Tuesday March 3, ISyE was present at the Flanders Make and Edtechstation event "Smart Competences: Capturing, Sharing, and Growing Knowledge in Manufacturing", where we gave keynotes and demos.
Last Tuesday, the Flanders Make and edtechstation event “Smart Competences: Capturing, Sharing, and Growing Knowledge in Manufacturing” at Hangar K Stad Kortrijk brought together companies, researchers and technology partners around one central challenge: how can we capture, share and valorise (expert) knowledge in an industrial context?
Our Prof. Dr. Steven Hoedt delivered a keynote on “The Lifecycle of the Competency Matrix". In this talk, he discussed the current approaches to competency management in industry and highlighted several opportunities for improvement.
In addition, our team at ISyE presented two demos during this Smart Competences event: “Competence-aware Assembly Line Optimization” by Steven Hoedt as well, and “Ergonomic-aware Task Allocation and Scheduling” presented by Peyman Yasari.
It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas on how competency management and human factors can be better integrated into industrial decision-making.
