Goodbye Dr. Jaakko Peltokorpi

(20-06-2025) After about three months of working with us at ISyE Kortrijk, we said goodbye to the Finnish visiting engineering scientist Dr. Jaakko Peltokorpi. We are thankful for the shared opportunities with Aalto University. We had a small farewell party before he starts his travels back.

Dr. Jaakko Peltokorpi started as a visiting scientist at UGent Campus Kortrijk and Industrial Systems Engineering last March. He got involved in the research of group of Industrial Systems Engineering (ISyE).

Jaakko is a postdoctoral researcher from Aalto University Finland. His working projects are situated on the topic of "From Human-Centric to Environmentally Friendly and Data-Driven Manufacturing". He also works on his TwinFlow concept of "Merging Information Technologies and Operational Technologies for Enhanced Production-Intralogistics".

While Jaakko was with us, he provided the team with a nice presentation of his past and current work, as well as an introductory lesson to professional frisbee golf!

He also spoke about the ongoing Universiteit Gent - Aalto University collaboration. Of course, we hope for more fruitful future collaborations between Universiteit Gent and Aalto University.

Check out the latter on the LinkedIn post about that day.
