PlanVar Planning Game at Profel FAL-Achel nv
(07-05-2026) We recently organised another edition of our PlanVar planning game workshop for production environments with high variability. This time, the workshop took place at Profel Group in Pelt.
As an industrial partner, Profel has been actively involved in the COOCK PlanVar project over the past years. Like many manufacturing companies, they continuously seek better control over production planning in environments characterised by uncertainty and variability.
During the development phase of the planning game, we previously visited Profel with a test version of the workshop, fully tailored to their operations using a selection of their own products, production processes, and variability parameters. The feedback from that session proved highly valuable in further shaping and refining the final workshop experience.
On Wednesday, April 29, we returned with the completed version of the PlanVar workshop to engage a team of 22 enthusiastic employees in an interactive learning experience. Through the planning game, participants explored how different planning parameters influence production output and delivery reliability.
The workshop immerses participants in a realistic simulated production environment with high variability, where they can test and evaluate different planning strategies. By experimenting with multiple parameters and decision-making approaches, participants gain practical insights into managing and optimising production planning processes.
